My Story

Hello Everyone, for those of you that dont know me and those that do. I am that little chubby guy in the profile picture. Which does beg the question why am i doing a half marathon. Dont worry I ask myself the same question since signing up. It is going to be a tough 9 months of training with a lot of tears I am sure.

I will be doing it in aid of "Fergs run club" a great cause close to myself as a male who has suffered poorly from bouts of mental health in the past. Also due to social and cultural pressures have meant that as a male I have not opened up or spoken about my struggles and/or mental health.

Fergs run club is a incredible idea set up by one of my close friends. Its main aims to bring men together to talk openly about emotions as well also getting in some light exersize. As metioned above this is hugely important due to the stigma of masculinty and feelings meaning men are more likely to suffer in silence. They meet every monday at the downs in Bristol. I would love to encourage anyone who would like to join to do so. Please find more about them in the link below.

As FERGS RUN CLUB is not yet a registered charity. I would like all the money I raise to go to MIND and the work they do, on behalf of FERGS RUN CLUB.

If you would like to donate, any donation is greatly appreciated. I am sure will go a long way to improving lives for many.

Thank you all :)
