My Story

It is with such sadness to say that our Grandma passed away at her beautiful home on the 4th March surrounded by her family.

On Christmas day, our Grandma had a severe stroke and spent ten days in ICU in Southmead Hospital in Bristol. During that time, we were told that she had been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, grade 4 Brain Cancer with a short prognosis. We are all devastated.

Our Grandma is the most beautiful and inspirational woman - we have so many amazing memories and she has been such an important part of our lives.

This is why my sister Megan and I are running the Great Bristol Half Marathon in May - in honour of everything she has done for us, how much she means to us and raising money to help continue the important research needed.

The reasons why glioblastomas develop are under ongoing
investigation, and research is looking at genetic and molecular
changes that can occur in the cells which is why raising money for this research is so important - there isn't enough of it and the disease and cancer is taking too many lives far too suddenly with no warning.

Please follow our training and support us by donating to our chosen Brain Tumour Charities. Thank you!
